Chronology of cameras Houghton

The Ensign E29 Portrait Camera is the very close sibling of the Ensign E29.

Both cameras, made of lightweight wood and cardboard covered in leatherette with embossed markings, are identical. Viewfinders, film advance, latch, and lens are the same.

However, the Ensign E29 Portrait Camera features:

- A sports viewfinder in the form of a retractable metal frame,
- A built-in close up lens controlled by the round button at the bottom of the front face. In contrast, the E29's one is optional and external.
- A different front decoration.
